Community
Support
The
community service committee performs the important task of
getting help for our members and their families in time of
need. It works through public and private organizations to
assure that our members receive help in emergency situations.
This committee is famous throughout the entire UAW for the
work its does to help our membership. Many local unions now
hold benefits for members suffering from catastrophic
illnesses, a program pioneered by the UAW Local 211 community
service committee and copied by other locals throughout the
UAW. Our local membership is extremely charitable and supports
this committee in its efforts.
